Joyful Noise #TopTenThursday

Welcome to a Top Ten Thursday Round-Up!! I know I have not participated in these in a while, and that makes me more sad, than it makes you. There have been some awesome topics, and lists I really wanted to make. Unfortunately, life has a way of getting in my way. So, I have not been able to pull it off.

You may remember, that for Top Ten Thursday, a group of us get together and create top ten lists, based on a chosen topic. It is organized by the fabulous Tamara of Part-Time Working Hockey Mom!

This week, we are discussing our Top Ten Happy Songs! If you remember my Top Ten Favorite 80's Songs list, you probably remember that I struggle picking Top Tens of music. Music is too BIG to be limited to lists, and yet we do it often. I am firmly convinced that every music list ever made, probably has a ten mile long list, of invisible honorable mention songs, the list's creator considered and wished they could include.

It is just the way music is. Now, things that make us happy, well that is an easier list. We probably have more than ten things, which make us happy, but choosing just ten to mention is definitely not too difficult. You may remember that it was easy for me, to come up with a list of the Top Ten Things That Make Me Happy.

So, rather than stressing over this top ten list, and focus on it being a music list, I decided to look at it more of a happy list. So, it was still a difficult list to create, but I made it somewhat easier on myself. I chose to not look at it, in terms of my all-time top happy songs, but in terms of my top ten CURRENT happy songs. The songs that in the past few weeks, have been making me happy.

So, in mostly random order, here are my Top Ten (Current) Happy Songs...

1. "Waiting in Vain" by Bob Marley. I don't think there are many top ten lists involving music, that this song won't make an appearance on. It is my absolute favorite song. It has TONS of competition, but there is just something special about this song, that always gives it a slight edge. I think one of those things, is how happy it makes me. It livens up my soul. It gets into my bones. It infiltrates my mind and body. It makes me dance and sing. It lifts my spirits. There is just something about the rhythm and his voice, and the lyrics, and his voice. So, yes, this song definitely makes me so darn happy, each and every time I hear it.

2. "Havana" by Camila Cabello. Have you heard this song? Well, Gigi is partially to blame for this song making my top ten list. She LOVES this song, and we listen to it a lot, and it just makes me happy. We have danced and sang to this song so often. Seriously, so much dancing has been done to this song in our house and car. Seeing Gigi so happy, absolutely makes me contagious. It is also on here, because the darn song is good. It is catchy, and then rhythm is awesome, and it is just a soul infiltrating song. I highly recommend having a dance party to this one!

3. "Scars to Your Beautiful" by Alessia Cara. This is another dance party song. I love it. I love the meaning. I love the beat. I love the lyrics and meaning. I love just being free and dancing with Gigi to this. I love what the lyrics are telling her. I hope she takes it to heart, and grows up to embrace her own  beautiful, even if it isn't up to par with society's standards of beautiful. Of all the videos I will post, this is probably the one I most hope you all watch. Take it deep to heart, and dance.

4. "Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake and the Trolls cast. I dare you to listen to this song, and not be happy. Seriously, listen to it. Put it on. Dance. Sing. Come back here, and try to tell me you are not happy. Seriously. I'll wait. *waits, while singing and dancing with Gigi* See! I told you so!

Bonus:
"True Colors" from the Trolls movie

5. "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. This song has actually made me cry a few times, nonetheless, it is on my list of happy songs. You have an issue with that?! Say something. I dare you. Not all tears are sad. Not all are happy. Some are just tears because of emotions. This song definitely evokes so many emotions in me. It also just makes me happy. Ed Sheeran makes me happy. Well, when he just got engaged, it didn't make me completely happy. I am kinda sad he did not wait for me. Sigh. Oh well, I wish him a long life of complete happiness and love. I will just maintain my crush from a distance.... while singing and dancing to this song, feeling happy to my core. I need to note... He did two alternative versions... One with Beyoncé and one with Andrea Bocelli. I highly recommend listening to all three. For lack of a better word, they are perfect.

Bonus:
With Beyoncé

Bonus:
With Andrea Bocelli

6. "End Game" by Taylor Swift, feat Ed Sheeran and Future. Well, Gigi makes me happy, just by existing, so I guess it should not be super shocking most of my happy songs are because of her. Either she loves them, and from seeing her joy from them, I catch the joy, and they become my happy songs too. Sometimes it is because they are just awesome songs on our dance party list. Dance parties definitely make me happy. I do not care what your opinion of Taylor is, you cannot deny she is talented. Ed Sheeran is one of my favorite musicians ever, so that goes without saying, that he is talented. This is a unique trio and an interesting song. Whenever it comes on the radio, we turn it up and dance and sing. We play it on Spotify quite a bit. We actually just play all things Taylor and Ed, as often as we can.

Bonus:
"Everything Has Changed" Taylor and Ed

7. "Whiskey" by Tje Austin. Listen.... This song should probably be number one. Truly. I just decided to go for lucky number seven. This was one of my most listened to songs of 2017. I listened to his latest album over and over and over and over. I know the entire thing by heart. It is my favorite album of 2017, and in my top ten albums ever. He is one of my favorite singers ever. Everything this man does makes me happy. Everything. If ever I get married, I am going to sell a kidney, just to pay for him to play at my wedding. He is going to pull double duty. He is going to be in the wedding party, and the singer. That is a long story. Maybe I will tell you one day. Let's just say, I am a woman of my word. So, for whatever reason, I love everything that comes out of his mouth. I am tempted to get him to sing a Chinese food menu, or the phone book, and see if I  love that too. I suspect that I will. He is just that damn good. I highly recommend you listen to his entire I Belong To You album. I also suggest visiting his YouTube page, and watching every video.

I want to do a hundred bonus videos for Tje, but I will have self control.... Bonus:
Thinking Out Loud (cover)

Bonus:
"Right For You"

8. "Hallelujah" by basically anyone. We listen to this song a million times, and sing and dance, and we just feel it in our souls. We tend to love Rufus' version, as well as the version from the movie Sing. Just watching Gigi sing to it, makes me happy. I love that she loves songs, that I love, and have loved for years. I am sure she likes when I love songs she loves. However, there is one video of Choir! Choir! Choir! with Rufus Wainwright doing it, that is hands down our favorite. Period. End of story. Take it to the bank.

Bonus:
From the movie Sing

9. "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur. This man and his voice... They serenade my soul. I could listen to it on repeat and not get tired of it. In fact, I have on multiple occasions. Love dancing to his songs with Gigi. They tend to be my songs to catch my breath, and just get my sway on. Perfection.

10. "Let It Go" by James Bay. No, there is nothing frozen about this song. I love this man and his voice. This song is magic for me. I love it. We listen to it a lot, and Gigi can sing parts of it. We make a great (off key) duet, her and I. This was also one of my most listened to songs of 2017. Right at the top with Tje.

Bonus:
"Hold Back the River" another of my top songs of 2017.

Bonus:
"Need the Sun to Break" another top 2017 song.

11. I have to do another one. Hear me out. I absolutely needed to list the above songs, but this list would be incomplete without me sharing something, and then sharing a video or two. Willie Nelson. This man is the True North on my music compass. I travel all over the musical map, in every direction, but without fail, I always return to my True North. Willie is my favorite go to artist. I have many I love. So many. Willie is the one I seek out at my happiest times, or my saddest times. In the in between times. Just because. I was blessed by my friend Kim (amazing lady), to attend a Willie Nelson concert this past August. It will be a forever memory. Something I never forget. Something that is forever a part of me, my life, and my story. I got to share the same space with Willie, and listen to him LIVE. In person. From right by the stage. It will forever be one of the greatest moments and experiences of  my life. Period. It is one of my happiest moments. The moment he walked on to stage, and my breath got stuck in my throat, my heart skipped a beat or two, and then started to just pound. The tears just streamed down my face. I was so happy and my body could not even handle all of it. It was just perfect. I was sitting right next to my True North. I am certain at some point, he heard me. He heard my voice. He heard my cheers. I am just a grain of sand in his life's memories. A tiny part of one of his wholes, but that is okay. I made it. I was there. So, pick any of his songs, no matter the subject, and it is hands down one of my happy songs. His voice makes me happy. His music makes me happy. His legacy makes me happy. He makes me happy. I am so grateful for him. I am so grateful God gifted him to us, to be a part of our musical history. So, yes, I had to have an eleven. When I look back on my childhood, once of the biggest memories, is my daddy singing to me. He would always sing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", and it was everything to me. No matter how bad my day had been, and I had some terrible days, during that song it did not matter anymore. Nothing did. It was just me, my dad's voice, that song, and infinite potential for better days to come. So, I will put the official listing of eleven as... "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" by Willie Nelson. I wish I could tell you that Willie did this song in August. Sadly he didn't. Honestly, it is probably best he did not do it. I think the sheer happiness would have caused my heart to explode. Miracles happen, maybe one day, I will get to hear Willie sing it live. I won't hold my breath, but man the thought of it is amazing. Also, I should tell you... Nothing can prepare you for seeing him live. Truly. I have watched every video, every performance, and listened to every album. Hearing his play his guitar is person... Mind blowing.

Bonus:
"Always on my Mind"

Bonus:
"Seven Spanish Angels" with Ray Charles

Bonus:
"Old Timer"

Gosh. For a list of happy songs, I sure cried a lot while making this list. In my defense, I just want Willie to live forever, and I know he won't. None of us will. However, music. It will live forever. Plus, Ed and Tje. They can sing me to happy tears.

So, there you have it... My happy songs. I hope you listen to them all, enjoy, and get happy!!!

Boo #TopTenThursday

Welcome to this week's #TopTenThursday. This is a fun writing challenge, that is hosted by Tamara of Confessions of a part-time working mom. Her, myself, and other bloggers, come together and post weekly Top Ten lists, which we create based on a chosen topic. I hope you enjoy reading my list, as much as I loved creating it.

As many of you have probably noticed, I've missed the last few Top Ten Thursday posts. I have not been feeling well. I have the corresponding lists for those weeks, and I plan on sharing them. I just need to write the posts. I'm still not feeling great, but I'm determined to share this week's list. We are sharing our top ten Loves/hates of Halloween.

1. (love) All the costumes. Getting to see everyone dressed up. I especially love dressing Gigi up. This year, she is going to be a shark. Chad and I are going to be pirates.

2. (love) Giving out candy. I love you seeing the joy on kid's faces, when I give them candy. Sadly, in our current house, we get no trick-or-treaters. Luckily, we have been out with Gigi the last few years.

3. (hate) The temptation of leftover and super cheap candy. I always buy too much candy. Even though I give lots of candy to each kid, there is always leftover.

4. (love) Sending leftover candy to work with Chad, then him telling me they enjoyed it.

5. (love) I love scary movies. Love them. This time of year, they're all over the TV. Yay.

6. (hate) Spiders. Ugh. Terrified of them. Terrified. This time of year, they're everywhere. Ugh. I wish they'd quit making fake spiders, and that real ones were extinct.

7. (love) The homemade goodies. Cookies, bars, Caramel apples, popcorn balls... So many yummy treats get made this time of year.

8. (love) Haunted houses. Love love love them. I really love scary things.

9. (love) The Monster Mash. It's silly, but this song makes me SUPER happy!!!!

10. (love) Parties and social gatherings. I just love chances to get together with friends and family.

11. (Bonus- hate) Candy corn.

Well, there you have it. What would be on your list?! Are you a fan of Halloween?!

Make sure to check out all the other Top Ten Thursday lists this week!!

My Happy Face #TopTenThursday

Welcome to this week's #TopTenThursday. This is a fun writing challenge, that is hosted by Tamara of Confessions of a part-time working mom. Her, myself, and other bloggers, come together and post weekly Top Ten lists, which we create based on a chosen topic. I hope you enjoy reading my list, as much as I loved creating it.

Last week, we shared our Top Ten Talents. I really struggled with it. This week, we are sharing our Top Ten Things That Make Us Happy. As you can imagine, I did not struggle with this topic. Well, unless you count narrowing it down to just ten things, a struggle. So, without further ado, here in random order, are the ten things that always make me happy.

1. Gigi. I am sure y'all knew this one, right?! I think it is a given. Even on her worst days, and my worst days, she is a huge happy spot. She completes me, and makes me so happy. She is my sunshine, even on the darkest of days.
1 b. Chad. Yeah, he annoys the living daylights out of me, but he is my BEST friend, and he gave me Gigi.

2. Coffee. I can be in the grumpiest of moods, and take one sip of coffee, and BAM... Happiness. Truly. It warms me to my soul, and I don't mean heat warmth, I mean the warmth of happiness. You probably were not surprised by this one either.

3. Doctor Who. I know. This one probably was a surprise. It just makes me happy. I love all things Doctor Who, especially the show itself. If you knew me, you would probably be even more surprised by this one making the list. I am not into Sci-Fi. I do LOVE LOVE LOVE Doctor Who though. I even wish I had owned a ton of Who gear. Maybe one day!

4. Ellen. Y'all... I can be in a horrible mood. Feeling sick and just miserable, and I can watch Ellen, and she is just the biggest pick-me-up! Seriously! She is so darn funny, and she is always saying such beautiful things, and doing such amazingly kind things! I just adore her. I often seek out videos of her, when I am grumpy, or not feeling well. It is actually on my bucket list, to go see her show live one day. I would love to dance with her! She is AWESOME!

5. Painting. Really, art in general, but especially painting. Painting is my happy place. I honestly have not done any really painting in years, but it is my absolute happy place. I get lost in it. I can forget my worries, and just focus on existing and creating art. I really wish I had a small studio, and could paint on a regular basis.

6. Pay It Forward. Anytime I am able to pay it forward, or hear of others paying it forward, I get happy to the deepest depths of my soul.

7. Matt Damon. Him. His movies. His interviews. Basically all things Matt Damon. There is only one thing I am not happy with him about... He is a *gulp* New England Patriots fan. Hey, everyone is flawed eh? His just happens to be a yucky flaw, but in the grand scheme of things, it could be worse. He could be a Yankees fan...

8. Reading. I love love love love love to read. Anytime I get to read for a bit, I am a happy girl. Yep. I will sacrifice sleep, even if I am exhausted, just to have a few minutes of reading time. Reading has always been one of my happy places. Long before I had art, I had reading.

9. Swimming! I really love to swim. So so so much love for swimming! I do not get the opportunity to swim, as often as I would like, but when I do get the chance to swim, it makes me so completely happy. It is so peaceful and restful. I just love it so very very very much!

10. #Mommitment. Oh my goodness, y'all!!! This makes me SO HAPPY! Especially the Mommitment Facebook Group!! Just a bunch of moms showing each other love, kindness, support, acceptance, and friendship. It is just a beautiful thing. Such a wonderful thing, and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

Honorable mentions: Road trips. Bowls of chicken and dumplings or Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Working in my Happy Planner. Writing. Giving gifts.

So, did my list shock you?! Were you expecting it?! Some shocked you, others not so much!? What are the things that make you happy?! Are any on your list on mine as well?!

Talented Ms. Bergham #TopTenThursday

Last week, we made a list of our Top Ten Favorite Famous People. This week, we are revealing our Top Ten Talents/Things We Are Good At. Well, last week's list was pretty easy for me. I did have to decide between a few options, to see who made it onto the top ten list, and who was a close runner up. Some were easy peasy, and an automatic addition to this (Think Matt Damon). Others, I had to really think if they were more of a favorite than one of the other options. So, yes, it took some thought, but was easy. Now, this week's list... Well, I spent days thinking about it. Contemplating. It really was not quite as easy as the last list. If you ask me my top ten faults, I would probably be in the same situation I was last week. Plenty of options, and just trying to rank them, to see which were in the top ten. Asking me positives about myself, well, that is hard.

It isn't that I don't think I have talents, or good traits, or things I am good at. It is just that I don't notice them as easily as I notice my faults. This is probably a bad thing, but it is the reality. I just think of it as being honest and realistic. So, without further ado, after much contemplation/discussion with Chad and Gigi, and in random order, I present my Top Ten Talents/Things I am Good At....

1. Writing. I really debated this one, not sure I was going to put this one on my list, but at the end of the day, I do write things I am proud of. Many of those things, do not get shown to anyone, but I am proud nonetheless. Not only do I think I am an okay writer, but I love to write. So, yes, I definitely felt this should be on the list.

2. Reading. I know what you are thinking... Reading is not a talent. Well, hear me out... I am a super speedreader. So, that is why I add it to this list. People are constantly in awe of how quickly I can read, and actually comprehend what I am reading. So, yes, this is an actually something I am good at, in my opinion.

3. (From Chad) Shopping online. To expand... I am good at finding good deals.

4. (From Chad) "Our kid is still alive, so you're doing good at that." I would definitely like to think I am decently good at being a mother. I do my best, and I LOVE being a mom.

5. Picking out gifts for others. I don't know that I am great at it, but I have been given a lot of compliments on the gifts I choose for people. Most importantly, I LOVE buying/giving gifts. I wish I were super rich, just so I could give AMAZING gifts and donate to charities.

6. (From Chad) Cookie Jam. I will give him this one, but I am really not great at it. It is just one of my top two go to tasks, when I need something mindless to pass the time.

7. (From Chad) Tolerating pain. Ehhhh.... I was really wondering if I should put this one, but he has a good point. I do have an extremely high pain tolerance. I am in pain all day, every day, so eventually you just kind get okay at just dealing with it.

8. (From Chad) Empathy, caring for people, caring about the world. Okay. So, this one made it, because before I enlisted his help, I had considered putting love on the list. I think I am really good at loving others. I genuinely love others. I want the best for everyone. I want happiness and peace worldwide. I hurt when others hurt. So, okay, this one made the cut.

9. (From Gigi) Playing with my Wubble ball. We spent time today really trying to get her to catch really well. I am really trying to teach her to keep her eyes on the ball. She is really good. I think it is because she has been obsessed with playing ball since she was an infant. She is even good at batting.

10. (From Chad) In the bedroom. Well, if I wasn't REALLY struggling to come up with ten, this would NOT be on the list. Sadly, I am adding this, and I still have three blank spots. Desperate times... Obviously he said it is jest. Maybe 10 should really be putting up with Chad and his shenanigans.

So, I know, horrible top ten list. I am sorry. This topic was REALLY hard for me. Want to know my faults?! I could give you twenty in under two minutes.

Fame #TopTenThursday

Welcome to this week's #TopTenThursday. This is a fun writing challenge, that is hosted by Tamara of Confessions of a part-time working mom. Her, myself, and other bloggers, come together and post weekly Top Ten lists, which we create based on a chosen topic. I hope you enjoy reading my list, as much as I loved creating it.

Last week, we made a list of our Top Ten Things We'd Save if Our Home Were On Fire. This week, we are revealing our Top Ten Favorite Famous People. They can be living or dead. Really anything goes. So, if you know me at all, you probably already know, I am so EXCITED about this topic!! Like... I am doing a happy dance as I type this!! I am not super into famous people, or anything, but I love opportunities to discuss *MATT DAMON*.

Without further ado, in mostly random order, here are my top ten favorite famous people...

1. MATT DAMON. Matthew Paige Damon. Do I really need to say more?! Of course I do. LOL So, yes, Matt Damon is undeniably my favorite famous person. He is basically my favorite famous person ever. He is really my favorite human. Gigi is slightly higher on my list of famous humans, but just slightly. I would LOVE to be his best friend. I am certain he is an awesome friend. He is an awesome human being. I just know he would make my life better, just by existing within it. He is a remarkable person. He is intelligent, talented, kind, and wonderful. I love how he uses his celebrity status for good. I love how he has maintained his integrity. I love how he does so much good in this world. He will genuinely make this world a better place in his lifetime, and he has already started. Plus, I love his movies. He is just the best, and he is my favorite. Okay? Okay.

(Images from Google/ He is worth every cent!)

2. Robert Nesta Marley. Bob Marley. He is one of my heroes, and one of my favorite human beings to ever live. So many people just associate him with marijuana, and that makes me sad. He was so much more! So, so, so much more! He was so wise and full of love. I am so against racism and judging others. I believe in loving others, and spreading love and peace. He was such a beautiful soul. Plus, his music is amazing. His song "Waiting in Vain" is my most favorite song EVER. His lyrics are fantastic, and don't get me started on the rhythms. He stood for some of the best things in the world. He stood for peace, harmony, love. He stood against hate and judgement and violence. He did so much good in the short time he was on Earth. He changed lives, and his legacy is living on. It lives on through his music and his children. You should totally go to his website and buy stuff from their shop. For one, a portion of the proceeds go to the 1Love.org charity!! Plus, I own many of their shoes and headphones. They are AMAZING quality. Also, seriously, do not delay... Try Marley Coffee NOW!!! You will NOT be disappointed. He was so amazing. I am so sad that I never got to meet him, or hear him perform live. My fingers are crossed I get to attend a concert one day, in Heaven.

3. Ellen. Ellen DeGeneres. She is so famous, that I really did not even need to say her last name. She is also very kind and generous. She is hilarious. I am a sucker for people who can make me laugh. She is genuinely awesome. She really tries to make the world a better place, and fights against hate. She loves to help others. She is so amazing, and I would love to know her personally. I think being her friend would be AMAZING. Something tells me, she would keep me laughing constantly. I absolutely adore her. She is so incredibly funny, and she is so famous, but she has never become full of herself. I absolutely adore her. She does so much good!!

(Images from Google)

4. Robin Williams. If you read my blog post back in 2014, after he died, you probably already know I love Robin Williams (Bob is mentioned as well). I say I love him, because I do. He may be gone, but he still lives in my heart. He has gifted me with so much laughter and wisdom over the years. He will forever be one of my favorite comedians. He was a remarkable human being. He was beyond famous, but always remained humble. His death really showed us all, that we never truly know what struggles others are enduring. His death hit me hard, even though I never met him in person. He is one of my favorite actors of all-time. His films are some of my very favorites. He was so beautiful. A true treasure.

5. Julia Roberts. I love her. So very very much. She is an amazing actress, and a beautiful person. My list of favorite movies, contains most of her movies. I just absolutely adore her. I adore how kind and authentic she is. I love her despite her insane level of fame, she stays true to who she is. She is just an awesome actress and person. She is another person, who I would love to be best friends with.

(Images from Google)

6. Emma Watson. I adore her so very much. She was amazing as Hermione. She is also just an awesome human being. The way she stands for her beliefs, so unapologetically, yet respects others, is amazing. She is going to do so many amazing things in her lifetime. I can just tell. She is AMAZING. I adore her. She will champion some of the changes this world so badly needs, and she will do it with poise and integrity.

(Image from hellogiggles.com via Google)

7. Keanu Reeves. Keanu is extremely talented. I adore him as an actor. He is also an awesome human being. He has never let his fame get to his head. He does a lot of humanitarian work, and makes lots of donations. He has taken cuts in pay, just to ensure movies can be made well, and with everyone getting fair compensation. He has known great personal loss, and sadly I can relate to it. He is just an awesome person. It would be an honor to know him, and be his friend.

(Image from Google)

8. Wally Lamb. I absolute adore Wally. He is the author of my favorite book, "She's Come Undone". His writing helped to heal my soul, and led me to follow my heart and write. He writes wonderful books, and he is genuinely a wonderful human being. If you have not read his books, I strongly recommend them! You will definitely thank me later!

9. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. I feel like this one needs no explanation. She was one of the most amazing people ever. She was completely selfless. She was wise beyond her years. She was a truly beautiful soul. I love her so much. I am grateful she was recently made a Saint. Well deserved.

10. Willie Nelson. I love him. I just absolutely love him. His music is some of my favorite music ever. I love the humanitarian work he does. I don't do regrets, but I have admitted, a day will come when I regret never having seen him in concert. It is on my Bucket List, to see him live, and to shake his hand and thank him for the music. I really need to do it, as I know opportunites to do so will end. I just never have the money for tickets, and the last two times he was close, I could not take the time away from Gigi. I still have hope, and maybe my wish will come true. His music means so much to me. He is an awesome man. His talent is undeniable, and not matched or exceeded by many.

So, there you have it, my top ten favorite famous people. There are so many more I could have listed, but I felt this was my list. I hope you enjoyed it! What about you?! Who are some of your favorite famous people?! Are any of your favorites on my list as well?!
