Winter Storm #WinterPoetry January 2016

Winter. Either you love it or you hate it. I really don't think there is an in between for it. I was a huge lover of Winter, nearly my entire life. Then I spent five years in Buffalo, New York, and became the biggest hater of Winter ever. I especially hate snow. I honestly have a very negative reaction to the thought of being in snow. UGH! I lived in Wyoming, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire... all places where it snows quite a bit, and none of it compares to Buffalo snow. Lake Effect snow. Horrible stuff. Absolutely horrible.

So, as you can see, I am one of those people that hates Winter. I guess it is a good thing, that I now live in California. One thing I can admit, is that snow is beautiful. Some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen, have included snow. So, even though I hate it, and wish to stay as far away as possible, I can definitely appreciate the beauty of it. The beauty in pictures.

So, my friends and I decided to write some poetry for y'all to read, using the theme of Winter! I hope you enjoy it all! I will include links to all the participating blogs, at the end! In the meantime, here is my contribution! I hope you enjoy!

Poem 1:

Fluffy white flakes falling to the ground.
Cold snow mounds all around.
I lay here by the fire,
missing your sweet hugs that I admire.
Outside the weather is so cold.
Inside is an emptiness caused by love untold.
I miss you with all my heart.
I hate these days we spend apart.
I need you to know how I feel.
I need to stop denying your appeal.
I should just take the chance,
and ask to start a romance.
I know that you want me,
as I have not been deaf to your plea.
Maybe I should stop playing life so safe.
Give you the chance to end my time as a waif.
You told me once I should always let love win.
Would it win if I open my heart and let you in?
Or would I just get hurt and lose?
I really do not know which path to choose.
I could spend the rest of these Winter nights alone.
Letting my heart remain made of stone.
Or I could just go ahead and end this chase.
Open my heart and accept your embrace.
Give you all my love.
Let you serenade me nightly with your Breedlove.
I could find my happy place, inside of you.
Together we can start life anew.
As I pick up my phone,
not wanting to end this night alone,
I know this is the right choice.
Now I just need to find my voice.
I need to tell you how much I need this.
How much I want your kiss.
Come over I say.
Knowing you'll quickly be on your way.
Tomorrow will be our first.
The day we finally quench our thirst.
Embarking on a new life together.
Bound as one, we can survive any weather.

Poem 2:

White snow falling.
Icy roads winding.
New life forming.
Temperatures finally warming.
Everyone ready for Spring to come.
Rivers slowly flowing.

Poem 3:

Snowflakes.
Town schools closing.
Outside it is freezing.
Roads are icy.
Makes me want to hibernate.

Thank you for taking the time out of your Wednesday to read this! I hope you enjoyed reading them, as much as I enjoyed writing them! I hope you are all having a fabulous week!
