Use Your Words January 2015

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

My words are:
Bitter ~ watch ~ wild ~ stand ~ chat
They were submitted by: http://batteredhope.blogspot.com
**Thank you for such inspiring words!!**

Take 1:

I don't know if it makes me a bitter person, but my mind goes wild with jealousy, when I have to stand and watch you chat with other women.

Take 2:

I hate to stand by and watch you chat with other women.
It drives my mind wild with hurt and jealousy.
I guess you could call me bitter.
Maybe I am.
I cannot help it.
Not that long ago, it was me that held your attention.
I was the object of your affection.
I miss that.
I miss you.
I miss us.

Thank you for taking the time to read this! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Wow! Inspiring and intense words used so well by you. I am impressed that take one had every word contained in one sentence!

    1. Thank you! <3 The first thing that came to mind was that one sentence. I wanted to try to expand on it, so Take 2 came about. I still feel like I could/should do more. I feel and edit coming on.

  2. I can feel the pain in your words, especially take 2 which felt so poetic. I think you need to turn this into a full story.

    1. Thank you. I would love to expand on it. I feel like there is more there, but it is just below the surface. Definitely a possible edit in the future!

  3. It's an art to tell a story in very few words. You master it!
    PS: I hope it's fiction?

    1. Thank you very much. That compliment means a lot to me. It is fiction based loosely on experience. I am really not a jealous person by nature. I definitely did get the inspiration from real life though.

  4. Wow, using all the words in one sentence! Take 2 was great, though.
