Using my words July 2014!

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

At the end of this post you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.
I’m using:      Nutella ~ pencil ~ Beverly Hills  ~ light ~  bottled water ~ file
They were submitted by: http://thethreegerbers.blogspot.ch/     (Confessions of a part-time working mom)

I think back over our time together.
All the minutes, days, and years.
I search through every file about you in my memory.
I think back over all your quirks.
How you would only drink bottled water
and never a single drop from the tap.
How you hated Nutella,
but loved hazelnuts and chocolate.
How you would only write your poetry in pencil,
and everything else in pen.
How you loved Beverly Hills,
but hated California.
How you always had to leave a light on in every bathroom,
but never any other rooms.
How you would go for walks every day but Tuesday.
That one still baffles me.
What is wrong with Tuesday?
Why not Monday, Thursday, or Sunday?
Your quirks always baffled me.
Sometimes they even annoyed me.
They were a part of you though.
I accepted them.
I loved them.
I loved you.
I want your quirks back.
I want you back.
I want to explore Beverly Hills with you,
while drinking bottled water.
We can sit in the hotel bathroom,
bathing in the light,
writing poetry with a pencil,
while feasting on hazelnuts and chocolate,
but no Nutella.
I miss you.
I'd do anything to have you back in my life.
I'd even go camping.
Yes, I said that.
I would go camping.
For you.
For you I would do anything.
I would do everything.
Please come back.
Don't stay gone.
I. Miss. You.

    1. My Muse for this piece (and many of my poems) is very dear to me. So much pain and love and joy and saddness in me, caused by him. He was, is, and always will be my Muse. He just contacted me last night actually. He is one of my greatest friends and greatest loves. :)
      Thank you.

  4. "I would even go camping" sounds like you really loved that person…
Not sure I'll ever say that!

    1. I am so not a camper. I have never camped, and it is likely I never will.
If my Muse for this piece came to me today and asked me to go camping... I would pack up as much of my comforts (Lysol, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, bottled water, baby wipes, etc etc etc) and I would go camping. I do love him. Always will. Some friends are just love. They aren't friends, they are love. That is him.
