You've got it all backwards"

One thing came to mind, when I read this prompt, and in all the time I spent thinking of what to write, it was all I could think of. So, that is what I am going to tell y'all about today. What immediately came to mind, when I read "You've got it all backwards".
In recent weeks, Gigi has really put work into dressing herself. She sometimes struggles with figuring out how to hold her clothes, that once on, they are not backwards. If she cannot figure it out, she asks me to show her which way to hold them. I tell her, she puts them on correctly, boom she is dressed.
Well, a few weeks back, when dressing to go to my doctor appointment, she did not get her shirt on correctly. I told her. She told me she knew, she was just going to wear it backwards. Okay.
A few helpful people, at the doctor's office, informed her about it, and we informed them we knew it was backwards. So, that is how that day's outfit went.
Then she started putting them on backwards (either accidentally, or on purpose), and I would let her knew it was backwards, and she would just say it was fine, and that was that. It is her thing these days. Chad and I are considering changing her name to Kriss or Kross.
So, if you see us around, don't even bother saying "You've got it backwards" to Gigi, she knows. Do like me... Smile and nod.

ReplyDeleteSmile and Nod, you know what, you just came up with the ultimate parenting advice! ;-)
ReplyDeleteGigi is getting such a free-spirited personality. I am still smiling about her picking flowers on the soccer field and have the coach (or was is the ref) deliver them to you.
How many times in a mom's life do we 'smile and nod'? So cute -- thank you
ReplyDeleteSounds like my granddaughter. We bought her some reversible shorts. They are crack me up!
