Use to be #UseYourWords September 2015

Today’s post is this month's Use Your Words writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked four to six words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

My words are:
sweet tea ~ door ~ car ~ sunshine ~ school

I miss the feeling of sunshine on my face.
I miss long, aimless rides in the car.
I miss attending school and learning new things.
I miss the taste of your homemade sweet tea.
I miss the way life use to be.
I miss seeing you walk in the door.
I miss the electricity I would feel when our eyes would meet.
I miss hearing you say my name.
I miss staying up late in the night talking to you.
I miss the way life use to be.
I miss the feeling up your arms wrapped around me.
I miss day trips to the beach, sand between my toes.
I miss everything being in its own place.
I miss cooking delicious meals.
I miss the way life use to be.
I miss being yours.
I miss you being mine.
I miss us.
I miss planning our future.
I miss the way life use to be.

  2. Longing is such an overwhelming emotion, especially when, in the past, you've had what you're longing for.
Hope you end up with exactly what you need.

  3. If I had a hard time feeling melancholy or using this word as one of my six, then you have it down perfectly!
I hope life throws you some opportunities that make you write a happy, cheerful poem next month ❤

  4. Wow! I never would have pictured the words used like this, but I like it. Sad, but having experienced that kind of pain myself many years ago that's exactly how it feels. Great job!

  5. That was beautiful. I miss all those things too, except for the sweet tea one. I've never had anyone make me sweet tea before, but your poem makes it seem like it is something I should miss regardless.
