A Week in the Life #SecretSubjectSway August 2015

Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week 16 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

My “Secret Subject” is:
You get to swap lives with a family member or close friend for a week- who do you choose and why? What do you think they'll love about your life? What do you think that they'll be glad they only have to be stuck in your shoes for a week about?
It was submitted by: http://sparklyjenn.blogspot.com/
Thank you for this interesting subject prompt!!! <3

I won't lie, my first answer that popped in my head... totally cool.... and totally inappropriate. So, I had to really think this through. I considered several options. I have some excellent options. In all cases, I definitely get the better end of the bargain. I would feel bad for anyone having to live a week in my shoes. Hopefully, they would get lucky, and I would not really be sick that week.

I almost picked my friend Hasan or my friend Eileen or my Dad or Gigi..... In the end my choice is Chad.

I think it could really help us understand each other. It would be cool to see each other through the other person's eyes. We could really get closer, which nearly seems impossible.

I think he would love my life, since in many ways, my life is his life. Plus, he would get A LOT more Gigi time! I would finally get a better understanding of what his work is like.

Unfortunately, I am very rarely not sick for seven days straight, so he would likely spend some of the time sick. For him that would stink, but it would be awesome for me. Having him be able to understand what I go through, would be a huge blessing.

If nothing else, we would be able to say we truly know what it is like to walk a mile in each other shoes. That would be awesome in and of itself!

What about you... Who would you like to switch places with for a week?!

***Note: I take it as switch places, as in swap into each other's bodies. If it were simply switch lives period... I think I would still choose Chad, though he may be fired by the week's end. No way I could do his job in my body! LOL***

  1. I don't think I could switch with my friends eitehr, then I'd have to deal with their spouses and that WOULD NEVER WORK...

I would switch with my hubby so we could understand each other as well.

  2. I love what you did with this! I think swapping with your spouse is a great idea because as much as we can explain what we're going through...no matter how loving and empathetic they are...no one quite knows the situation til they experience it themselves. Way to rock it lady!

  3. I love not only who you chose but why you chose him. A better understanding of each other's perspective is an awesome reason to choose your significant other.

  4. What a great question -- and you did such a good job with your choice and your reasons. I would love to switch places with my daughter.

  5. That was an awesome prompt!
It can never hurt to truly walk in another person's shoes for a while.
I think I would pick Colin for the following reasons:
I think his life is pretty cool and careless
I would have soooo much energy all day long!
It would give me a chance to get to know his buddies on a different level
I would find out how my parenting is being perceived by a kid

  6. I think swapping lives with someone would be awesome, especially a significant other. You'd see each other with new eyes at the end of the week for certain.

  7. Having been very sick and living a miserable life in recent years, I think it would have helped my ex greatly to see what I actually went through. I know I could not have done his job either. These days I wish ANY of my family had to deal with my life. No one understands and I'd truly LOVE for anyone to have my life for a day, they'd never last.

  8. Interesting prompt...I'm not sure who I would swap with. Probably my kids to see things through their perspective, and vice versa. Maybe then they wouldn't argue with each other as much. ;)
