C is for Coffee and Candy #FunnyFriday February 2016

Today’s post is February’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write five captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they have come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.

Here’s today’s incredible picture. It was submitted by the genius at The Bergham Chronicles.
Okay, yeah, me. I submitted this pic. :)

1. Gigi: When Mom has coffee, she's happy. When mom is happy, I get candy. I'll just be putting this right here. Now, where is the candy aisle?!

2. Gigi: I'm not even 2 1/2 and they have me doing the shopping. At this rate, I'll be doing the laundry by my next birthday. Is it too late to be adopted?!

3. Me: Gigi, don't put things in the cart! Oh. Coffee?! Carry on.
Me to Chad: Definitely my kid.

4. Chad: Did you tell her to put that in the cart?!
Me: Nope.
Chad: If cookies end up in the cart, it wasn't me.
Me: Sureee.

5. She comes by it honestly. I started drinking coffee at five. We did not prompt her to put the coffee in the cart. It was a very proud moment though. As for the aforementioned cookies, we left with two types of mysteriously acquired cookies. Oh, and Gigi did leave with organic jelly beans.

    1. She can!! With the Keurig. She just kinda did it one day. We don't let her, because it is dangerous for her, now that we've moved the Keurig. She amazes me none the less.

  5. Hey you gotta teach them young, shopping, laundry, dishes, sweeping...lol That's the age when they actually want to help, when they get older it's like pulling teeth just to get them to pick up their shoe. Great job this week!

    1. She's so good right now. She loves helping with all kinds of chores. The one thing she refuses to do?! Pick up her own toys. It baffles me.

  7. This is funny. I once watched a little girl who, from the story she told me, got bored of her mom talking to someone she ran into at the store and decided to load up on brownie box mixes. I think she put two or three in the cart. :) When mom got home and found the mixes, she was a bit surprised. ;)

But hey! At least Gigi put coffee in the cart rather than something for herself (unless it was actually her putting the cookies in the cart). I love that she thinks by her next birthday she'll be doing the laundry! You should her to that! ;)

    1. LOL. She actually does help with laundry. She also does dishes, vacuums, cleans... She is basically willing to help in every way, except for picking up her own toys. LOL

Make Jules a Billionaire June 2016 #SecretSubjectSwap

Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week twelve brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

My “Secret Subject” is: You are put on the board of a charity of your choice. What is your cause and why is it important to you? It was submitted by the lovely Karen of Baking in a Tornado.
I would definitely love to be the head of the board on the Make Jules a Billionaire Charity. I would love to get a headstart on lots of fundraisers and really get things rolling. Jules (I) really need to be a billionaire already. I could do so many good things, if I were a billionaire. I could fund orphanages and animal shelters. I could supply villages around the world with clean water and mosquito nets. I could fund medical research for cancers and other horrible diseases.
If only. If you are interested, let me know in the comments, and I will give yo…

Touched for the Very First Time March 2017 #UseYourWords

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked four to six words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That is the challenge, here is a fun twist; no one who is participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

My words are: Tetris ~ Rollerblades ~ Big Hair ~ Rubik’s Cube~ Like A Virgin ~ Neon They were submitted by: Tamara of Confessions of a part-time working mom(Thank you for the awesome words, Tamara. I kinda hate you though. I had two solid plans for this month's words (I NEVER have plans, and this month I had TWO plans), and neither could be applied to these words, so I had to strugggggllllleeeeee..... It's okay, after reconsidering our friendship, I decided I still love you!)
So, I read this month's words, and I immediately transported back t…

The Game of Life Jan 2017 #SecretSubjectSwap

Welcome to a the first Secret Subject Swap of 2017. This week twelve brave bloggers submitted a secret subject for someone else to use, and were assigned a secret subject prompt of their own. Each blogger gets to use their Secret Subject prompt, to write any blog of their choice. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

My “Secret Subject” is: Video games give a chance to escape sort of like reading a book or watching a movie but you, the player, is in control of the story or the actions needed to complete it. As technology advances so have games giving people vast open worlds to play in and characters who are more and more customizability. If you could turn any book, TV show, or movie world into a game what would it be? Lead us on an exploration of what it might be like playing this game (feel free to make up your own world if books, TV, or movies fail to give you a suitable choice).
