A Bird in the tree #FunnyFriday October 2015

Today’s post is this month’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write 5 captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they’ve come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.

Here’s today’s picture. It was submitted by Someone Else’s Genius (http://www.someoneelsesgenius.com).

1. What are you looking at? Ugh! I knew I should have bought those new privacy shades!

2. That's right little worm. Keep coming closer. Just a little bit closer.

3. Maybe I should have chosen the Mulberry Bush! The view was so much better!

4. Maybe if I sit really still, the cat will just keep moving passed. I really do not want to have to beat him up again. I don't know when he will learn to leave me alone.

5. Are you sure you are getting my good side? Was this rock the best choice for a prop? I am telling you, I think we should have gone with the nest prop! I really think it complemented my eyes better. This rock is just so industrial, and I am not an industrial bird. Yes, I think we need to switch the rock out. Also, are you SURE that is my good side?

Spooktacular Poetry.

BOO!!!

Did I scare you?!

Probably not. In my house, boo is heard quite a bit lately. Gigi is obsessed with trying to scare us. She actually succeeds more often than I would like to admit. She is a cutie patootie. We just did a photoshoot with her. I cannot wait to share this pics, once we have them! I think you all will love them!

My friends and I decided to join together and share some spooky poetry with all of you! Here is my contribution! I hope you enjoy it!

Poem 1:

Black cats.
Orange pumpkins.
Owls going hoo hoo.

Bats and witches in the sky.
Old trees leaving spooky shadows in the sky.
Ornery trick or treaters, playing more tricks than treats.

Boo boo boo.

Poem 2:

As the darkness settles on the world,
she takes her search out into the streets.
Searching and looking,
constantly alert as she wanders around,
trying to find that which must be found.

She looks here and she looks there.
She looks all over.
She looks everywhere.

She looks in the streets,
and in the alleys too.
She looks in the bars,
and stops at the stores.
She looks and looks,
never thinking to retreat.

She looks here and she looks there.
She looks all over.
She looks everywhere.

She searches the people that pass her by.
She searches the crowds.
She searches the lonely straglers.
She searches each every person she sees,
none of them ever looking her in the eye.

She looks here and she looks there.
She looks all over.
She looks everywhere.

Finally she hones in on the right one.
She stalks her prey with such zeal.
She knows the power she will soon feel.
She knows before long it will soon be done.

She looked here and she looked there.
She looked all over.
She looked everywhere.

Now her mission is complete.
She has found what she was looking for.
She will soon drink his blood,
turning him into another one.
Soon he will be kneeling at his maker's feet.

Warm and Fuzzy #UseYourWords October 2015

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked between four and six words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who is participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

My words are:

play dough ~ toilet ~ fuzzy ~ frantic ~ driving

They were submitted by: http://dinoheromommy.com (Thank you for such randomly awesome words!!!! For the record, fuzzy is my absolute most favorite word. True story. I am not really sure why. I just love it! Z is my favorite letter, so it probably helps that there are two in the word!)

On a side note... I will not even tell you guys the things Chad said, when I told him the words I was assigned this month! One of the things I love about Chad is that he is always interested in my subjects and words for our blog challenges. It is nice that he is interested in what I am doing on the blog!

You have always made my insides feel warm and fuzzy.
With just one look or one kiss, you make my mind hazy.
I look back on the years we spent together.
All the good times and happy memories.
All the bad times and sad memories.
I am so grateful for it all.
The good times were so good,
that the bad times were worth it.
Even the night that I was driving fast,
completely frantic, worried about you.
Having got the emergency call from the nurse,
telling me to get there quick.
My mind was racing, trying to figure out what had happened.
I was hoping you were fine, but in my heart I knew.
Seeing you in the hospital bed.
Your body broken.
I knew then, even before they told me,
I knew life would never be the same.
Our bodies are not made of play dough.
We are not easily fixed.
Breaks take time to heal.
Organs are fragile.
Once the doctor told me the odds of your survival,
I knew I wouldn't leave your side,
and I didn't.
I stayed with you for weeks.
I only left to use the toilet,
or quickly wash up in the sink.
I stayed with you.
Talking to you.
Telling you all I should have said while you were well.
Reiterating all I had said previously.
Letting you know my feelings and my thoughts.
Letting you know my fears and worries.
Even then, just touching your hand gave me warm and fuzzy feelings.
Even now, all these years later, I still get warm and fuzzy,
when I think of you.
I miss you.
I think I always will.
You will forever be in my heart.
You will always have a home in my life.
I know we will meet again.
Once my days are done,
I know you will be in Heaven to greet me.
I wish we had more time together here on Earth,
but regardless of how short,
I am grateful for the time we had.
You will always be my greatest love.
Forever and for always.
You'll always make my heart warm and fuzzy.

Smell My Feet #SecretSubjectSwap October 2015

Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week fifteen brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

My “Secret Subject” is:
Trick or treat?
It was submitted by: http://themomisodes.com  (Thank you so much for such a simple yet complex subject!!)

Trick. Treat. Trick or treat. Such a broad subject. Wow. The first thing that comes to mind is Gigi in her owl costume last year. She was the cutest thing ever. I may be biased, but she was pretty dang cute. This year she will be Minnie Mouse. What will your children be?! I am already thinking about next year. I know, weird. I am seriously going to confess something...

I have never really celebrated Halloween. As I have said before, my dad was not one for really celebrating holidays. I have never really dressed up. I have mostly used a few accessories, but never any amazing costumes. Well, one of my most favorite bloggers DeBie Hive, goes all out in the Halloween costume department. Her entire family wears coordinated costumes. Now, I am not saying the Bergham crew will ever do that, but I am seriously considering coordinated costumes. Well, I am seriously in love with foxes. So, I was thinking Gigi could wear a fox costume, and Chad and I would wear ears and face paint and MAYBE tails. I think It could be cute. This idea came to me while doing my nails last night.

So, we will see. There is more than a year to decide. I will also admit, that I thought about totally letting her decide. Though, I really want to wait until she is four or five for that. That way if she were to pick something we could not afford or find, she could really understand and we could discuss other options. Plus, since I never dressed up, it is kind of fun to choose her costumes! Another thing I have thought of doing for next year is a shark. She loves sharks and her Dad loves them. I think it could be cute. Plus, Chad could dress as a shark, and maybe I could dress as a wave, and by wave, I mean dress all in blue. Easiest costume ever.

Gigi went to the safe trick or treating downtown last year, and we visited Bass Pro a few times. Overall it was a successful October. Lots of family fun. I discovered Gigi makes the most adorable owl ever and looks fabulous in orange. This year, we will definitely be going to Bass Pro again. I also plan on going to the safe trick or treating downtown. I think I also want to bring her to a few houses. I am just not so sure. I will definitely let you all know what we do, and I will most certainly share pictures!

This past weekend, we went to the Pumpkin Fair. It was fun. She rode on her first choo choo train. She was beyond thrilled. She is so in love with trains. I have even considered letting her dress up as Thomas the Train. I bet she would love it!

So, tell me... What was your best experience with trick or treating? What was your favorite costume you ever wore or that your kids wore?

I have decided to treat you all with some pics from our October last year! I hope you enjoy!
