Hot Cocoa with A Side of World Domination #FunnyFriday January 2016

Today’s post is January’s Funny Friday, a regular feature published on the last Friday of every month. Funny Friday is a collaborative project. Each month one of the participants submits a picture, then we all write five captions or thoughts inspired by that month’s picture. Links to the other bloggers’ posts are below, click on them and see what they have come up with. I hope we bring a smile to your face as you start your weekend.

Here’s today’s awesome picture. It was submitted byDinosaur Superhero Mommy.

1. What? We didn't trespass! We have just been sitting right here.

2. Not a caption, but I cannot let the opportunity to point out this man obviously needs a new cup and hat. His are YUCKY! :-P

3. Boy to Mom: Shoveling is hard work. I need longer breaks and higher pay. This $3 a day just isn't cutting it anymore. I really think we should renegotiate as soon as possible, Ma. It will be snowing before you know it!
Dad to self: Man, I need to learn how to negotiate like him.

4. Boy…

Stay With Me #UseYourWords January 2016

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked four to six words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That is the challenge, here is a fun twist; no one who is participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

My words are: searching ~ birthday ~ resolution ~ baby ~ sparkles They were submitted by: http://www.renasworld.com/ (Thank you for such wonderful, and oddly appropriate words!!!)

When I opened the e-mail with my words this month, I laughed. They are so oddly appropriate. Of course it is the New Year, so there are people adopting a resolution or two. I have been searching the internet daily, trying to find a short list of things I need. I am on baby watch for about five friends, and two just welcomed their beautiful babies. Of course with this time of yea…

Winter Storm #WinterPoetry January 2016

Winter. Either you love it or you hate it. I really don't think there is an in between for it. I was a huge lover of Winter, nearly my entire life. Then I spent five years in Buffalo, New York, and became the biggest hater of Winter ever. I especially hate snow. I honestly have a very negative reaction to the thought of being in snow. UGH! I lived in Wyoming, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire... all places where it snows quite a bit, and none of it compares to Buffalo snow. Lake Effect snow. Horrible stuff. Absolutely horrible.

So, as you can see, I am one of those people that hates Winter. I guess it is a good thing, that I now live in California. One thing I can admit, is that snow is beautiful. Some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen, have included snow. So, even though I hate it, and wish to stay as far away as possible, I can definitely appreciate the beauty of it. The beauty in pictures.

So, my friends and I decided to write some poetry for y'all to read, u…

Life's Lemons #SecretSubjectSwap January 2016

Welcome to this month's Secret Subject Swap. This week thirteen brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

My “Secret Subject” is: Some things you just need to learn to live with. Like . . . It was submitted by:http://Bakinginatornado.com (Thank you for the wonderful topic, Karen!! <3)
So many times in life, we have to just "suck it up", and I am not just talking about our iced coffee or iced macchiato. We really do have control of our own lives and our own happiness, but so does destiny. Life has a way of handing us lemons, and it is up to us to make lemonade, or at least tolerate the sourness. The good news is that life also gives us whipped cream and cherries!
Some of the things we all seem to universally learn to live with....
Our families. Like they say, you can't pick your parents/family! I think one of the…
